Mr Jerome Davidson is currently based at Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Trust and sees patients privately in clinics across London.
He is highly specialised in performing hip surgery – complex primary joint replacements, high-risk arthroplasty and revision.
He has experience in performing minimally invasive total hip replacments with early return to function.
He also works with the Guy's Cancer Centre performing operations on metastatic cancer of the hip and pelvis. He leads the Sickle Hip Service at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospitals which is a supra-regional service managing this complex patient group.
Mr Davidson qualified in Medicine from King's College London, before undergoing specialist Orthopaedic training in the Guy's and St Thomas registrar rotation.
During his training, he undertook a dual fellowship abroad with the Bone Tumour Unit at the RNOH (UK) and the Royal Adelaide Hospital (Australia) focusing on adult reconstruction and joint arthroplasty.
He completed additional fellowships with the British Orthopaedic Association and the European Musculoskeletal Oncology Society. He gained invaluable experience in highly prestigious units across Europe during this period.
Mr Davidson is also a very active member of the research community, with numerous publications in medical journals. He has also been regularly invited to speak about hip arthroplasty outcomes at various medical conferences and meetings around the world.
Mr Davidson is passionate about teaching, and is very involved in this at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King's College London. He was the Surgical Tutor (Royal College of Surgeons of England) for Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals from 2020 until 2022.
Mr Davidson has an interest in medical law and also has a Master in Laws.
His private practice is predominantly based in Central London, and he also has a practice in Essex.
Mr Davidson is an exceptionally skilled hip surgeon. He is compassionate and empathetic, and has an incredible ability to make his patients feel at ease, while also providing the highest level of care.
Mr Davidson was appointed the Regional Director for London - South at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2022.
Mr Davidson is a member of the Court of Examiners and is a regular examiner for the College.
Mr Davidson was appointed as one of the Regional Clinical Coordinators at the National Joint Registry for the London Region in 2023.
